Hypnosis as sole anesthesia for oral surgery The egg of Columbus

Enrico Facco et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates the effectiveness and manageability of using hypnosis as a stand-alone technique in dentistry. By utilizing hypnosis as the sole anesthetic method for oral surgery procedures on three patients, successful painless surgeries were achieved with relaxed and stable patients. Hypnosis proved to be a safe and rapid way to relieve anxiety and phobia in patients, while also improving surgical analgesia.
