Sensitive carbon monoxide detection based on light-induced thermoelastic spectroscopy with a fiber-coupled multipass cell [Invited]

Xiaonan Liu et al.

Summary: A carbon monoxide (CO) sensor based on light-induced thermoelastic spectroscopy (LITES) with a fiber-coupled multipass cell was demonstrated, showing excellent linear concentration response and system stability. The sensor achieved a minimum detection limit of 9 ppm and a calculated normalized noise equivalent absorption coefficient of 1.15 x 10(-7) cm(-1).W.Hz(-1/2).

Powerful Q-switched Raman laser at 589 nm with a repetition rate between 200 and 500 kHz

J. Q. Hsiao et al.

Summary: A highly powerful acousto-optically Q-switched Nd:YVO4 yellow laser at 589 nm is demonstrated using separate cavity design with N-p-cut KGW crystal and phase-matching lithium triborate crystal. The optical-to-optical efficiency can surpass 32% for repetition rates within 200-500 kHz, with maximum output power reaching 15.1 W at an incident pump power of 40 W and a repetition rate of 400 kHz.

Passively Q-switched YVO4 Raman operation with 816 and 890 cm-1 shifts by respective Raman configurations

Li Zhang et al.

Summary: This study demonstrated passively Q-switched operation of Nd:YAP/Cr4+:YAG/YVO4 Raman lasers with different shifts and investigated the output power and conversion efficiency. Experimental results showed that despite different transmittance losses, the thresholds were similar, with the pulse repetition frequency mainly determined by the Raman conversion efficiency. These findings provide valuable reference for the design of passively Q-switched Raman lasers.
