A model to predict image formation in the three-dimensional field ion microscope?

Benjamin Klaes et al.

Summary: Field ion microscopy (FIM) is a technique used to image individual atoms on the surface of a material, achieving atomically-resolved three-dimensional reconstructions. It is particularly suited for observing crystalline defects, but further developments are needed to make it a routine technique.

Convolutional neural network-assisted recognition of nanoscale L12 ordered structures in face-centred cubic alloys

Yue Li et al.

Summary: A CNN-based intelligent L1(2)-ordered structure recognition method was proposed for revealing the 3D distribution of nanoparticles in FCC alloys. The approach allows detection of nanodomains with a minimum radius down to 5 angstrom and shows promise for recognizing other nanoscale ordered structures in the future.
