Metal-organic framework-derived yolk-shell hollow Ni/NiO@C microspheres for bifunctional non-enzymatic glucose and hydrogen peroxide biosensors

Xiaoqing Ma et al.

Summary: In this study, yolk-shell hollow Ni/NiO@C microspheres were successfully template-synthesized using Ni-MOF, displaying a unique structure with rich pore openings. The microspheres were used as a bifunctional electrocatalyst for glucose oxidation and H2O2 reduction, showing wide linear ranges, high sensitivity, and the ability to quantitatively detect glucose in blood serum and monitor H2O2 in neutral situations.

Intrinsic catalase-mimicking MOFzyme for sensitive detection of hydrogen peroxide and ferric ions

Hani Nasser Abdelhamid et al.

Summary: Lanthanide metal-organic frameworks exhibit excellent properties, such as high thermal stability and promising enzyme-mimic activity. A new cerium MOFs synthesized via a solvothermal method showed good thermal stability and fluorescence emission signal at a wavelength of 550 nm. It demonstrated peroxidase MOFzyme activity and could detect hydrogen peroxide and ferric ions with good sensitivity and a wide linear range.
