Rhabdomyolysis is a disease characterized by muscle pain, weakness, and dark urine, accompanied by elevated creatine kinase (CK) levels. It can be caused by various factors such as trauma, immobilization, sepsis, drugs, and alcohol. CK values are used for diagnosis and prognosis, with renal dysfunction being the most serious complication. Early and intensive fluid therapy is the main treatment approach.

Is characterized by the presence of muscle pain, weakness, and dark urine, associated with elevated creatine kinase (CK). The causes related to this syndrome are varied, being traumatic etiology, immobilization, sepsis, drugs and alcohol the most frequent. CK values are used for diagnosis and pro -gnosis, being renal dysfunction the most serious complication. Treatment is based on early and intensive fluid therapy to avoid kidney complications.(c) 2021 Elsevier Espana, S.L.U. All rights reserved.
