Angular sensitivity of an x-ray differential phase contrast imaging system with real and virtual source images

Summary: This work introduces a novel approach based on x-ray thin lens imaging theory to predict the angular sensitivity responses of dual-phase-grating differential phase contrast (DPC) interferometers, and experimental validations have demonstrated the high accuracy of theoretical predictions. This new sensitivity calculation method is helpful for optimizing the DPC imaging performance of a dual-phase-grating system.
