Microstructure Evolution in Cu-0.5 wt% Zr Alloy Processed by a Novel Severe Plastic Deformation Technique of Rotational Constrained Bending

Tomas Krajnak et al.

Summary: Repeated processing of a Cu-0.5 wt% Zr alloy by rotational constrained bending (RCB) can enhance the strength of the alloy significantly while decreasing ductility. The microhardness distribution of the alloy becomes homogeneous and the grain size and dislocation density show significant improvements after multiple passes of RCB processing.

Influence of prior deformation temperature on strain induced martensite formation and its effect on the tensile strengthening behaviour of type 304 SS studied by XRDLPA

C. Teena Mouni et al.

Summary: Research on the impact of prior deformation on the room temperature tensile behavior of Type 304 stainless steel was conducted, with a focus on dislocation density and martensite formation. Methods such as X-ray diffraction line profile analysis were used to investigate the changes in structure, highlighting the correlation between composite strength and structural properties.

Influence of the preparation conditions on the microstructure of electrodeposited nanocrystalline Ni-Mo alloys

Laszlo Peter et al.

Summary: This study determined the structural parameters of electrodeposited Ni-Mo alloys using X-ray line profile analysis, investigating the effects of Mo concentration on crystallite size, twin fault probability, and dislocation density. It was found that increasing Mo content led to decreased crystallite size and increased defect density, but the formation of defect structure was found to be influenced by multiple factors, not just Mo content.
