Inhibition of CCL2 by bindarit alleviates diabetes-associated periodontitis by suppressing inflammatory monocyte infiltration and altering macrophage properties

Zongshan Shen et al.

Summary: The study showed that Diabetes-associated periodontitis is closely related to persistently elevated levels of CCL2 and proinflammatory monocyte infiltration in periodontal tissues. Oral administration of bindarit reduced bone loss and increased epithelial thickness by suppressing inflammation in periodontal tissues. Bindarit also suppressed the infiltration of proinflammatory monocytes and altered the inflammatory properties of macrophages in the diabetic periodontium.

The Role of Oxidative Stress and Antioxidants in Diabetic Wound Healing

Liling Deng et al.

Summary: Foot ulcers in diabetic patients are often caused by various factors leading to slow wound healing, in which oxidative stress and antioxidants play important roles. By reducing oxidative stress levels, oxidative damage can be minimized to facilitate wound healing.

Sensory neuron-derived TAFA4 promotes macrophage tissue repair functions

Guillaume Hoeffel et al.

Summary: This study investigated the role of sensory neurons in promoting the tissue-repair function of macrophages and uncovered the regulatory mechanism of the neuropeptide TAFA4 on macrophage inflammatory responses. TAFA4, produced by a subset of sensory neurons, modulates the inflammatory profile of macrophages and promotes the production of IL-10 after skin damage in mice. This neuroimmune regulatory pathway driven by TAFA4 helps prevent fibrosis and promotes tissue regeneration, presenting new therapeutic perspectives for inflammatory diseases.

Facile Polyphenol-Europium Assembly Enabled Functional Poly(l-Lactic Acid) Nanofiber Mats with Enhanced Antioxidation and Angiogenesis for Accelerated Wound Healing

Keke Wu et al.

Summary: A functional wound dressing was fabricated using polyphenol-europium ion assembly, showing abilities to improve wound microenvironment, scavenge ROS, and promote angiogenesis. In vitro and in vivo experiments confirmed its antioxidant properties, cell adhesion and proliferation-promoting effects, as well as angiogenesis stimulation abilities. This novel dressing holds promise for accelerated wound healing.

Exosomes derived from pioglitazone-pretreated MSCs accelerate diabetic wound healing through enhancing angiogenesis

Yiqiang Hu et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effect of exosomes derived from pioglitazone-pretreated MSCs on diabetic wound healing. The results showed that pioglitazone-pretreated exosomes enhanced the angiogenic function of HUVECs and accelerated diabetic wound healing. The findings suggest a promising novel cell-free therapy for treating diabetic wound healing.
