Poly bio-silver nanoparticles (PBSNp) synthesized from the extracts of Piper nigrum, Piper longum and Zingiber officinale showed promising antibacterial efficacy, outperforming antibiotics in controlling microbial growth. PBSNp has the potential to be developed as an alternative biomaterial for controlling bacterial pathogens in the future.
Poly bio-silver nanoparticles (PBSNp) was synthesized from the extracts of Piper nigrum, Piper longum and Zingiber officinale. Morphology, size, surface charge, shape, composition, crystallinity and microstructure of the synthesized PBSNp was characterized by using UV-Vis spectroscopy, FESEM, EDAX, FTIR, XRD, HRTEM and SAED. The antibacterial efficacy of the PBSNp was evaluated against different bacterial strains. The zone of inhibition results demonstrated that PBSNp effectively controlled the growth of the microbes than antibiotics. In near future, PBSNp can be developed as a potential alternate biomaterial to control bacterial pathogens.
