Effect of cobalt doping on structural parameters, cation distribution and magnetic properties of nickel ferrite nanocrystals

Simi Debnath et al.

Summary: Thermal heat treatment method was used to synthesize PVP-capped nickel ferrite and cobalt-doped nickel spinel ferrite nanocrystals, XRD analysis confirmed formation of pure FCC nanocrystals, HRTEM study indicated different sizes for NF and CNF, EDX analysis verified elements present in the samples, and structural parameters were calculated for both nickel and cobalt-doped nickel ferrite nanocrystals from XRD data analysis. Cation distribution showed significant change due to doping, FTIR analysis confirmed phase purity, and magnetic characterization showed improvement of magnetic parameters in CNF nanocrystals.

Evaluation of structural, dielectric and electrical humidity sensor behaviour of MgFe2O4 ferrite nanoparticles

R. Shunmuga Priya et al.

Summary: Utilizing a green synthesis method assisted by lemon juice, MgFe2O4 ferrite nanoparticles were successfully prepared, showing high purity of the ferrite phase without secondary phases. The role of lemon juice as a chelating agent in forming the ferrite phase was crucial. The crystallinity of the ferrite samples improved with heat treatment, impacting the dielectric behavior and influencing humidity sensing.

High performance ammonia gas detection based on TiO2/WO3•H2O heterojunction sensor

Cao Cheng et al.

Summary: TiO2/WO3·H2O (TW) heterojunction gas sensor shows high sensitivity, excellent selectivity, and long-term stability in detecting NH3. The improvement in NH3 detection performance of TW heterojunction is mainly attributed to the increased oxygen free radicals on the surface caused by TiO2 nanoparticles, leading to more reactions with NH3 molecules to release more electrons.

Magnetic properties of larger ionic radii samarium and gadalonium doped manganese zinc ferrite nanoparticles prepared by solution combustion method

V. Jagadeesha Angadi et al.

Summary: Nanoparticles of Mn0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4, Mn0.5Zn0.5Fe1.95Sm0.05O4, and Mn0.5Zn0.5Fe1.9Gd0.05Sm0.05O4 ferrites were prepared by solution combustion method and characterized to understand their structural and magnetic properties. The study revealed a strong correlation between particle size and magnetic behavior, with the substitution of Sm3+ and Gd3+ affecting the saturation and remanent magnetization of the nanoparticles. Solution combustion method was shown to have a significant effect on the structure and magnetic properties of the prepared ferrite nanoparticles.

Effect of heat treatment on WO3 nanostructures based NO2 gas sensor low-cost device

Ameer Khudadad et al.

Summary: This study investigated the heat treatment influence on the morphological, structural, and gas sensing performance of Tungsten trioxide, and observed optimal crystalline size and surface area at 750 degrees C. The surface morphology of Tungsten trioxide showed a grape-like structure with high surface roughness, making it active for gas molecules. Furthermore, WO3 nano-structures demonstrated high selectivity, stability, and reproducibility to NO2 toxic gas.
