Viscosity and crystallization of bioactive glasses from 45S5 to 13-93

Erin Coon et al.

Summary: Bioactive glasses, such as silicate 45S5 and 13-93, have shown great potential for tissue regeneration. Viscosity and crystallization kinetics analysis indicates that intermediates 48S1T and 50S2T have attractive properties, making them promising candidates for diverse biomedical applications. Gradual changes in physical properties and phase assemblage were observed from 45S5 to 13-93 compositions.

Structural features, magnetic and ferroelectric properties of SrFe10.8In1.2O19 compound

Vitalii Turchenko et al.

Summary: The study found that the solid solution of SrFe10.8In1.2O19 hexaferrite exhibits ferroelectric properties at room temperature, challenging the conventional description of hexaferrite crystal structure. The magnetic structure and thermal expansion of the unit cell were investigated in a temperature range, with controversies remaining about the reasons for spontaneous polarization in hexaferrite solid solutions.

Summary: In this study, Ba0.5Sr0.5(CoCr)(x)Fe(12-2x)O19 hexaferrite was prepared using a two route ceramic technique, and the influence of Co2+-Cr3+ content on its structural and absorption properties was investigated. The results showed that the absorption peaks shifted to lower frequencies with increasing thickness, and compositions doped with Co2+ and Cr3+ exhibited improved absorption and bandwidth performance.

Investigation of crystal structure, dielectric properties, impedance spectroscopy and magnetic properties of (1-x)BaTiO3 - (x)Ba0.9Ca0.1 Fe12O19 multiferroic composites

Anand Kumari et al.

Summary: Composites of (1-x)BaTiO3- (x)Ba0.9Ca0.1Fe12O19 (x = 0.10, 0.20, 0.30) were synthesized using solid-state reaction technique, showing dual phase symmetry of hexagonal and tetragonal phases. The dielectric constant and magnetic properties increased with an increase in Ca-doped barium ferrite content. The conduction mechanism was found to be best explained by the overlapping large polaron tunneling (OLPT) model.

Munirah A. Almessiere et al.

Summary: The study synthesized spinel ferrite nanocomposites with different ratios using sol-gel and pulsed laser ablation approaches to tune their magnetic properties. It was found that the magnetic parameters of nanocomposites synthesized by sol-gel route were stronger than those synthesized by PLAL. Some nanocomposite samples exhibited stronger magnetic data compared to individual Co0.5Ni0.5Ga0.01Gd0.01Fe1.98O4 nanoparticles at low temperatures.

Summary: BaFe12-xTixO19 hexaferrites were synthesized using a conventional ceramic method, and their crystal structure parameters, magnetic properties, and ac resistivity were studied. The occupation mechanism of titanium cations was confirmed, and it was found that with increasing titanium concentration and temperature, magnetic and ac resistivity values decreased monotonically, while the real part of permittivity increased with temperature.
