Experimental studies on material removal behavior in MRAH based finishing technique

Chinu Kumari et al.

Summary: Magneto-rheological abrasive honing (MRAH) is an innovative ultra-precise surface finishing technique that involves simultaneous rotation and reciprocating motion to achieve the desired level of finishing on external intricate surfaces. Detailed understanding of material removal mechanism and the impact of various machining parameters is essential for recognizing the surface finishing process. Planned experiments were conducted to investigate the influence of rotational speed, finishing time, and magnetic field strength on material removal in brass workpieces finished by MRAH process.
