Antibacterial performance of fully biobased chitosan-grafted-polybenzoxazine films: Elaboration and properties of released material

Nisha Yadav et al.

Summary: A fully biobased benzoxazine monomer, V-fa, was successfully grafted onto chitosan, resulting in improved tensile strength, chemical resistance, and antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus. Analysis of leached out species revealed that oxidative stress is responsible for the antibacterial activity. The study demonstrates the potential of biobased CS-graft-poly (V-fa) films for wound-healing and implant applications in the future.

Preparing Multifunctional High-Performance Cross-Linked Polybenzoxazole Aerogels from Polybenzoxazine

Qi Ma et al.

Summary: Polybenzoxazole (PBO) aerogels have excellent thermal and chemical stability, good fire resistance, and electronic transmission. A new strategy to prepare cross-linked PBO (cPBO) aerogels through polybenzoxazine has been reported in this paper, producing aerogels with low thermal conductivity, excellent mechanical properties, and low dielectric properties. This method is simple, efficient, and has a promising application prospect.
