Bringing the vertical dimension into a planar multilevel autoregressive model: A city-level hedonic analysis of homebuyers' utilities and urban river attributes

Xun Li et al.

Summary: This study examines the impact of urban rivers on housing values and homebuyers' decisions in a 3-D context using the case of Guangzhou's high-rise apartment housing market. Results show that river view and riverfront location have negative utilities, while proximity to urban rivers is considered positive. Black-odorous river water devalues apartments, while riparian greening commands a price premium and mitigates negative utilities. Walking paths and sitting benches along river stretches can enhance the positive impact of river proximity but worsen the negative impact of river view.

Occurrence and distribution of antibiotics in sediments from black-odor ditches in urban areas from China

Yin-Zhi Lv et al.

Summary: The study found that black-odor sediments in different regions of China contain various antibiotics, mainly fluoroquinolones and tetracyclines. Although high levels of antibiotic contamination were detected in black-odor sludges from economically less developed small cities, the difference in antibiotic concentrations between well-developed and small cities in China was not statistically significant.
