Summary: Deadly complications of brain metastasis (BM) occur predominantly in a small subset of systemic malignancies due to shared biological mechanisms such as impaired cellular immunity, heightened oxidative phosphorylation, and canonical oncogenic signaling pathways. BM is characterized by T cell depletion, increased oxidative metabolism, and sensitivity to OXPHOS inhibition, indicating potential therapeutic targets for a broad range of systemic cancers.
