Sequential homogenization in Laplace Domain for viscoelastic properties of composites with functionally graded interphase

Summary: A novel sequential homogenization scheme based on a multi-coated model was proposed to investigate viscoelastic properties of composite materials with functionally graded interphase. The effectiveness of the method was verified through experimental results and finite element simulations, and the influence of reinforcement and functionally graded interphase on material properties was studied. Thickness and properties of the interphase were found to affect the loss factor in middle frequency ranges, and responses under stress relaxation and constant strain rate were explored.
