The study investigated the thermal stability of chitosan and its complexes with phthalocyanines in oxidizing and inert atmospheres, revealing different reaction pathways and product formations. Metallophthalocyanines were found to enhance the antioxidant properties of chitosan, increasing the temperature at which glycosidic bond cleavage reaction begins.
