Alkali and transition metal atom-functionalized germanene for hydrogen storage: A DFT investigation

Akari Narayama Sosa et al.

Summary: Density functional theory-based calculations were used to study the adsorption of H2 molecules on germanene decorated with alkali atoms (AM) and transition metal atoms (TM). The results show that the adsorption energies are in the range of physisorption, with K-decorated germanene having the largest storage capacity.

Li decorated penta-silicene as a high capacity hydrogen storage material: A density functional theory study

Yafei Zhang et al.

Summary: The H-2 adsorption characteristics of Li-decorated siliconene were predicted using DFT, showing that double-sided siliconene can store up to 12 H(2) molecules and release them gradually at a suitable desorption temperature of 281 K, making it a promising candidate for hydrogen storage applications.

Spin-polarised DFT modeling of electronic, magnetic, thermal and optical properties of silicene doped with transition metals

Nzar Rauf Abdullah et al.

Summary: The study reveals that transition metal-doped silicene exhibits characteristics such as reduced buckling degree, stable structure, parallel bands, etc., with spin polarization and phase transition affecting the Seebeck coefficient. The most stable state is a ferromagnetic state with a high Curie temperature, potentially beneficial for thermospin and optoelectronic nanodevices.

First-principles study of hydrogen storage on Ca-decorated defective boron nitride nanosheets

Liangcai Ma et al.

Summary: This study investigates hydrogen storage on Ca-decorated defective boron nitride nanosheets (BNNSs) using density functional theory calculations. It is found that BNNSs with certain defects have strong adsorption capabilities for hydrogen molecules, with the presence of Ca decoration impacting the adsorption energy and storage density differently.
