Adolescent Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder: Understanding Teenage Symptom Trajectories

Philip Shaw et al.

Summary: The symptoms of adolescent ADHD are influenced by genetic factors, while neural studies suggest that the remission of ADHD symptoms in adolescence may be related to the retention of childhood neural features or unique neural activity patterns during adolescence.

Predicting the course of ADHD symptoms through the integration of childhood genomic, neural, and cognitive features

Gustavo Sudre et al.

Summary: Research on a cohort of 362 youth found significant associations between certain measures of polygenic risk, cognition, and neuroimaging with the future course of ADHD symptoms, suggesting potential predictive power. Machine-learning algorithms showed good performance in classifying individuals with ADHD symptoms into different groups based on symptom course. These features warrant further exploration for their potential use as prognostic tools.
