Batch foaming of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene with supercritical carbon dioxide: Influence of temperature and pressure

Jie Liu et al.

Summary: The study found that the foaming behavior of UHMWPE with scCO(2) is influenced by temperature, pressure, and crystal structure. Higher foaming temperature results in larger cell size and lower cell density, while higher saturation pressure leads to lower cell density and larger average cell diameter.

Skinless porous films generated by supercritical CO2 foaming for high-performance complementary shaped triboelectric nanogenerators and self-powered sensors

Gao-Lei Ni et al.

Summary: This study introduces a new method to fabricate high-performance TENGs by producing skinless porous TPU film, which, when paired with convex structured PDMS film, significantly enhances output performance. The optimized TENG shows high power density, excellent stability, and durability, serving not only as a power source for small electronics but also as a self-powered sensor for impact force detection and monitoring human walking behaviors.

In vivo study of conductive 3D printed PCL/MWCNTs scaffolds with electrical stimulation for bone tissue engineering

Edney P. e Silva et al.

Summary: The study found that the combination of biocompatible and degradable PCL/MWCNTs scaffolds with exogenous electrical stimulation is effective in treating bone defects. High concentration of MWCNTs and electrical stimulation were shown to promote angiogenesis and mineralization, leading to faster and increased bone tissue formation. Additionally, the scaffolds favored the formation of osteoclasts, while electrical stimulation facilitated osteoclast generation and expression.
