On the generalized biased estimators for the gamma regression model: methods and applications

Muhammad Nauman Akram et al.

Summary: This study proposes a generalized class of biased estimators for addressing the multicollinearity problem in gamma regression models. Through simulation and empirical applications, it is found that the generalized gamma ridge regression estimator outperforms MLE and generalized gamma Liu estimator.

Beta ridge regression estimators: simulation and application

Mohamed R. Abonazel et al.

Summary: The paper proposes ridge estimators for the beta regression model to address the problem of multicollinearity and improve estimation efficiency. By comparing the performance of ridge estimators to the ML estimator through simulation and empirical application, it is found that the proposed estimators outperform the ML estimator in terms of mean squared error and mean absolute error.

Modified ridge-type estimator for the inverse Gaussian regression model

Muhammad Nauman Akram et al.

Summary: This paper discusses the parameter estimation problem for the inverse Gaussian regression model in the presence of multicollinearity. A new estimation method called inverse Gaussian modified ridge estimator is proposed and compared with other estimation methods. Theoretical analysis and simulation studies show that the proposed method is more robust in the presence of severe multicollinearity. The analysis of a real-life example also confirms the effectiveness of the proposed method for estimating the unknown regression coefficients.

Almost unbiased ridge estimator in the gamma regression model

Muhammad Amin et al.

Summary: This article introduces the almost unbiased gamma ridge regression estimator (AUGRRE) based on the gamma ridge regression estimator (GRRE), and proposes some shrinkage parameters for the AUGRRE. The performance of the AUGRRE is compared with the existing GRRE and maximum likelihood estimator using different shrinkage parameters. A Monte Carlo simulation and a real-life dataset are used to assess the performance of the estimators, showing the superiority of AUGRRE over GRRE and maximum likelihood estimator for the gamma regression model with collinear explanatory variables.

New shrinkage parameters for the inverse Gaussian Liu regression

Khalid Naveed et al.

Summary: In the Inverse Gaussian Regression, the variance of the commonly used Maximum Likelihood estimator significantly increases in the presence of multicollinearity. To address this issue, we propose the generalization of Liu estimator and evaluate its performance using Monte Carlo Simulation and a real-life application, demonstrating its superiority over the Maximum Likelihood estimator under certain conditions.

A new modified ridge-type estimator for the beta regression model: simulation and application

Muhammad Nauman Akram et al.

Summary: A new modified beta ridge-type (MBRT) estimator is proposed to reduce the impact of multicollinearity and improve estimation accuracy in the beta regression model when explanatory variables are highly correlated. Results from simulation and empirical application studies show that the MBRT estimator outperforms the Maximum Likelihood Estimator (MLE), beta ridge regression estimator (BRRE), and beta Liu estimator (BLE) in fitting the BRM with correlated explanatory variables.

A New Ridge-Type Estimator for the Gamma Regression Model

Adewale F. Lukman et al.

Summary: The study introduces a new estimator for estimating regression parameters in the gamma regression model when multicollinearity is present. Simulation and real-life application results demonstrate that the proposed gamma estimator outperforms other considered estimators in terms of mean squared error values.

The KL estimator for the inverse Gaussian regression model

Adewale F. Lukman et al.

Summary: It has been found that the KL estimator performs well in linear regression models, with smaller mean squared error compared to ridge and Liu estimators. Through theoretical comparison, simulation studies, and real-life applications, the KL estimator excels in the inverse Gaussian regression model, particularly in terms of shrinkage parameter.

A new adjusted Liu estimator for the Poisson regression model

Muhammad Amin et al.

Summary: The Poisson regression model is commonly used for count data, but its performance may suffer when the independent variables are multicollinear. To address this issue, a new adjusted Poisson Liu estimator (APLE) is proposed, which outperforms other competitive estimators in simulation study and empirical applications.

Robust Dawoud-Kibria estimator for handling multicollinearity and outliers in the linear regression model

Issam Dawoud et al.

Summary: A new robust regression estimator was proposed to address multicollinearity and outlier problems simultaneously in the linear regression model. The proposed estimator outperformed other estimators when multicollinearity and outlier problems occur concurrently in the model, as demonstrated through theoretical comparisons, simulation studies, and real-life dataset analysis.
