Enhanced photodegradation of acid orange 61 by the novel hetero-junction CoFe2O4/AgCl

Billal Brahimi et al.

Summary: This study aimed to enhance the elimination of the textile dye Acid Orange (AO61) using the CoFe2O4/AgCl hetero-junction, which was synthesized by the nitrate route. By characterizing the semiconductor and optimizing the operational parameters, such as mass ratio, catalyst dose, pH, and initial concentration, efficient degradation performance was achieved. Various models were used to analyze the photodegradation process, which was found to be most effective under solar irradiation due to the presence of O-2(center dot-) as the main active radicals.
