Turning diamondoids into nonlinear optical materials by alkali metal Substitution: A DFT investigation

Palwasha Khan et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates the electronic properties, absorption spectra, and nonlinear optical properties of alkali metal substituted diamantanes. The introduction of alkali metals leads to a significant reduction in the HOMO-LUMO gap, an increase in the first hyperpolarizability, and a shift in absorption from ultraviolet to the visible region. This offers an efficient approach to design high-performance NLO materials with applications in electronics and optoelectronics.

Exploring Li4N and Li4O superalkalis as efficient dopants for the Al12N12 nanocage to design high performance nonlinear optical materials with high thermodynamic stability

Faiqa Khaliq et al.

Summary: The influence of superalkalis (Li4N and Li4O) doping on the properties of Al12N12 nanocage was investigated using density functional theory. The doping significantly reduced the HOMO-LUMO energy gap and enhanced stability and nonlinear optical response of the nanocage. These findings provide valuable insights for designing and fabricating nonlinear optical materials with exceptional features.

Supramolecular packing of alkyl substituted Janus face all-cis 2,3,4,5,6-pentafluorocyclohexyl motifs

Joshua L. Clark et al.

Summary: This study investigates the conformations and molecular packing of alkyl all-cis 2,3,4,5,6-pentafluorocyclohexyl motifs using X-ray crystallography, theory, and Langmuir isotherm analysis. The results suggest that this ring system has the potential to be a motif for ordering supramolecular assembly.
