Lead oxide enables lead volatilization pollution inhibition and phase purity modulation in perovskite quantum dots embedded borosilicate glass

Bobo Yang et al.

Summary: Embedding inorganic CsPbX3 perovskite quantum dots into glass effectively enhances their stability. By using PbO instead of PbBr2, melting temperature is lowered and pollution from lead halide raw materials is reduced, resulting in high-purity CsPbBr3 PQDs embedded glass with improved properties.Changing the halogen element successfully prepares red and blue CsPbX3 PQDs embedded glasses with enhanced thermal stability and photo-aging properties.

Lithium doping induced self-crystallization of CsPbBr3 nanocrystal glass with improved quantum yield and stability

Dazhao Wang et al.

Summary: The all-inorganic CsPbBr3 nanocrystal (NC) has been extensively studied for its excellent optical properties, but its poor stability has hindered practical applications. A new method using LiBr-induced self-crystallization in borosilicate glass without heat treatment shows promising results with improved luminescent properties and stability. The self-crystallized CsPbBr3 NC glass has potential for applications in white light-emitting diodes (WLED) and opens new avenues for research in perovskite nanocrystals.

Perovskite Quantum Dots Glasses Based Backlit Displays

Jidong Lin et al.

Summary: This research introduces a method using perovskite quantum dots to produce nanocomposites in glass with superior optical performance and stability, which can be used to improve the color gamut and rendition of LCD. By physically diluting to eliminate the inner filter effect and effectively isolating them from the external environment, the quantum yield and stability of the quantum dots have been significantly enhanced. The backlit LCD designed using this technology showed a color gamut reaching 152% of commercial LCD and 103% of NTSC, showcasing great potential in the optoelectronic industry.

Perovskite CsPbX3 (X=Cl, Br, I) Nanocrystals in fluorophosphate glasses

E. Kolobkova et al.

Summary: CsPbX3 (X=Cl, Br, I) nanocrystals were successfully synthesized in fluorophosphate glasses for the first time, with controlled formation through adjustment of cooling rate and heat treatment conditions. The X-ray diffraction data and optical measurements confirmed the formation of 4-11 nm sized CsPbX3 nanocrystals, with the presence of two narrow bands in the luminescence spectra due to the introduction of two anions complicating the preparation process. The CsPb(Cl, Br)3 quantum dots exhibited high intensity photoluminescence with a quantum yield of 45-50% and narrow emission band.
