Improving the wear performance of a commercial Vit 1 amorphous alloy by a cryogenic cycling treatment

The friction coefficient and wear rate initially increased, then decreased, but eventually increased again with the increase of CCT cycles. Delamination wear was the main wear mechanism observed in all samples, showing variations in degree corresponding to the tribological behavior of the amorphous coating.
