Two comparable Ba-MOFs with similar linkers for enhanced CO2 capture and separation by introducing N-rich groups

Ying Zhao et al.

Summary: Two new metal-organic frameworks (MOF 1 and MOF 2) with different structures were synthesized by assembling Ba(II) ions and two similar linkers. MOF 2 exhibited a higher density of active sites and Lewis acid sites, leading to a greater CO2 capture and separation capacity at 298 K compared to MOF 1.

Simultaneous Presence of Open Metal Sites and Amine Groups on a 3D Dy(III)-Metal-Organic Framework Catalyst for Mild and Solvent-Free Conversion of CO2 to Cyclic Carbonates

Reza Abazari et al.

Summary: A novel amine-functionalized dysprosium(III) metal-organic framework NH2-TMU-73 was reported for promoting the chemical fixation of CO2 to cyclic carbonates. This catalytic process showed high efficiency, activity in the absence of cocatalyst, use of solvent-free medium, atmospheric CO2 pressure, and ambient temperature conditions. NH2-TMU-73 also exhibited high structural stability and recyclability in subsequent catalytic tests, with free amino groups and open metal sites playing an important role in the reaction mechanism.
