Synthesis, Study, and Application of Pd(II) Hydrazone Complexes as the Emissive Components of Single-Layer Light-Emitting Electrochemical Cells

Marzieh Emami et al.

Summary: Square planar Pd(II) complexes of hydrazone ligands were investigated for the first time as emissive components of LECs, showing tunable emissive properties and improved performance. The study demonstrates the potential of Pd(II) hydrazone complexes for use in solid state lighting applications, with enhanced luminance and turn-on voltage compared to traditional materials.

Tailoring, structural elucidation, DFT calculation, DNA interaction and pharmaceutical applications of some aryl hydrazone Mn(II), Cu(II) and Fe(III) complexes

Ahmed M. Abu-Dief et al.

Summary: The research focuses on treating Mn(II) Cu(II) and Fe(III) metal ions with the aryl hydrazone DHPN ligand, resulting in three new solid complexes. Characterization techniques revealed the coordination of these complexes, their significant interaction with DNA, and their anticancer and antioxidative properties. Docking study was also performed to understand the interaction of these complexes with protein enzymes.

Study of the catalytic mechanism of a non-heme Fe catalyst: The role of the spin state of the iron

Aikaterini Gemenetzi et al.

Summary: The study investigated the oxidative catalytic evolution of a highly efficient non-heme Fe catalyst using EPR and Low-Temperature UV-Vis spectroscopies. It was found that the Fe center can evolve via High-Spin or Low-Spin states, with only the Low-Spin path being catalytically efficient. Arrhenius analysis determined an energy barrier of E-a = 18.5 +/- 6.2 kJ/mol for the Low-Spin path.

Supramotecutar concepts for the biphasic epoxidation of olefins using aqueous hydrogen peroxide

Fabian Schmidt et al.

Summary: The paper presents an overview of supramolecular strategies for the epoxidation of hydrophobic olefins in water using phase transfer-controlling surfactants, with a focus on the rationale of phase transfer and the efficiency of catalyst recycling. The catalyst can be transferred to both the aqueous and organic phase depending on the surfactant type and reaction requirements. The comparison between these two concepts considers phase transfer type, supramolecular interactions between catalyst and surfactant, catalyst activity, and the potential for efficient and environmentally friendly catalyst recycling.
