The theoretical study of excited-state intramolecular proton transfer of N, N,-bis (salicylidene)-(2-(34′-diaminophenyl) benzothiazole)

Guijie Zhao et al.

Summary: This study investigates the excited-state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) reaction mechanism of a novel chromophore BTS using density functional theory (DFT) and time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT) methods. The research shows that the intramolecular hydrogen bonding is enhanced under the excited state, providing driving force for the ESIPT process.

Substituent Effects on Excited-State Intramolecular Proton Transfer Reaction of 2-Aryloxazoline Derivatives

Guijie Zhao et al.

Summary: Different substituents and benzene ring numbers have significant effects on the fluorescence phenomenon of 2-aryloxazoline derivatives, as observed through experiments and theoretical analysis. 2u is more prone to proton transfer reactions compared to 2ad due to different substituents, while the occurrence of ESIPT reactions becomes more difficult as the number of benzene rings increases in 2af, 2ai, and 2ah. The hydrogen bond strengthening mechanism has been authenticated to promote the ESIPT reactions in different substituents or benzene ring numbers.

Substituent effect on ESIPT mechanisms and photophysical properties of HBT derivatives

Yunfan Yang et al.

Summary: Substituent effects on excited-state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) and photophysical properties of 2-(2-Hydroxyphenyl) benzothiazole (HBT) derivatives were theoretically unveiled using density functional theory (DFT) and time-dependent DFT (TDDFT). The study showed that substituent changes affect the reactivity of ESIPT processes and the photophysical properties, resulting in red-shifts in absorption and emission.
