Universal and tunable liquid-liquid separation by nanoparticle-embedded gating membranes based on a self-defined interfacial parameter

Summary: The study presents a superwetting membrane with tunable organic liquid repellency, achieved by regulating the surface energy components of the membrane for switchable wetting modes for different organic liquids. This membrane can serve as a self-adaptive gating for separation of various immiscible liquid mixtures, with high separation efficiency and permeation flux.
