Rationally designed Ti3C2 MXene@TiO2/CuInS2 Schottky/S-scheme integrated heterojunction for enhanced photocatalytic hydrogen evolution

Wenxiang Yang et al.

Summary: The construction of Ti3C2 MXene@TiO2/CuInS2 heterojunction photocatalysts by a two-step hydrothermal process enhances the photocatalytic hydrogen generation activity. The synergistic effects of the hybrid photocatalysts result in improved visible-light harvesting, charge transfer, and active site for H-2 evolution, demonstrating their potential applications in this field.

Superhydrophilic Fe3+ Doped TiO2 Films with Long-Lasting Antifogging Performance

Yi Yang et al.

Summary: A Fe3+ doped TiO2 film with long-lasting superhydrophilicity and antifogging is prepared in this study, and experiments along with density-functional theory calculations are conducted to investigate the antifogging performance and the underlying microscopic mechanism of Fe3+ doped TiO2. The results show that Fe3+ doping can enhance the photolysis ability of TiO2 under sunlight exposure and stabilize the hydroxyl adsorbate on TiO2 surface, leading to a long-lasting superhydrophilicity.

Preparation of Ce-doped ZnO hollow spheres and their application as a light scattering layer in dye-sensitized solar cells

Nititorn Kenyota et al.

Summary: Ce-doped ZnO hollow spheres with varying Ce contents were synthesized via a template-free hydrothermal method, exhibiting a hexagonal wurtzite structure. The addition of 0.25 mol% Ce dopant increased diffuse reflectance and resulted in the highest energy-conversion efficiency for a dye-sensitized solar cell with a bilayer photoanode. This was attributed to increased dye adsorption and photonic reflection from larger particle sizes and higher porosity.

The effects of additive on properties of Fe doped TiO2 nanoparticles by modified sol-gel method

Jing Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, 0.3 wt% Fe doped TiO2 nanoparticles were prepared using different types of additives, F-127 and K-30, and their effects on crystal structure and photocatalytic efficiency were investigated. It was found that F-127 inhibited the phase transformation, while K-30 promoted it, leading to differences in photocatalytic degradation under UV and visible light irradiation.

Summary: The novel hexagonal FeTiO3/TiO2 composites prepared in this study showed high photocatalytic activity, good crystal properties, and light absorption ability. The heterojunction effect between the two materials promoted the spatial separation of photogenerated electrons and holes, enhancing the oxidizing ability and light absorption of the photocatalyst.
