In this study, cerium vanadate nanoparticles were synthesized using a co-precipitation method. The synthesized nanoparticles exhibited a spherical shape and showed stacking in some areas. These spherical nanoparticles of CeVO4 demonstrated a high energy storage capacity for hydrogen.
In this study, cerium vanadate (CeVO4) nanoparticles were synthesized using ammonium metavanadate and cerium (III) nitrate hexahydrate as reactants and hydrazine as OH- source by co-precipitation method. Nanoparticle analysis was performed by XRD, FESEM, FT-IR, and EDS. FESEM results showed spherical nanoparticles that were stacked in some places. The as-synthesized product was used for electrochemical storage of hydrogen. The amount of energy stored in the spherical nanoparticles of CeVO4 was recorded as 1829 mAh/g.
