Facile synthesis of sulfhydryl modified covalent organic frameworks for high efficient Hg(II) removal from water

Zhiyao Ma et al.

Summary: In this study, sulfhydryl modified covalent organic frameworks (COF--SH) were fabricated for efficient removal of Hg(II) from water. The COF--SH showed high adsorption capacity, fast adsorption kinetics, high selectivity and stability, as well as high Hg(II) removal efficiency under multiple coexisting ions conditions. The results suggest great potential for COF--SH in Hg(II) removal from water under complex conditions.

Visible-light-driven S-scheme mesoporous Ag3VO4/C3N4 heterojunction with promoted photocatalytic performances

Hind Alshaikh et al.

Summary: The mesoporous Ag3VO4/C3N4 photocatalysts exhibited significantly higher photocatalytic Hg(II) reduction performance compared to pristine g-C3N4 and Ag3VO4 NPs. The synthetic mesoporous 2.4%Ag3VO4/C3N4 photocatalyst showed the best photoreduction performance among all the synthesized nanocomposites. Through the synergetic effect of S-scheme heterojunction structure, high surface area, and promotion light harvest, the mesoporous Ag3VO4/C3N4 photocatalysts achieved efficient photoinduced charges separation to enhance Hg(II) reduction.

Experimental and theoretical insights into the reaction mechanism of spinel CuMn2O4 with CO in chemical-looping combustion

Ruixue Fang et al.

Summary: Chemical-looping combustion is considered a promising technology for low-cost CO2 separation. CuMn2O4, combining Cu and Mn into a spinel matrix, exhibits superior reactivity compared to Mn2O3 in the oxidation of CO. Experimental and theoretical studies support the improved performance of CuMn2O4, showing that the presence of Cu enhances its reactivity in CO oxidation reactions.
