Investigation of attapulgite modified Fe3O4/MOF-199 and its adsorptive desulfurization performance

By combining attapulgite with MOF-199 and Fe3O4, the composite material FAM was prepared, which improves the stability and adsorption performance of MOF materials and enhances adsorption efficiency.
The porous material MOF-199 with a large specific surface area is widely used in the field of adsorption, but the single MOF material is not stable enough and the adsorption performance needs to be improved, so MOFs materials are often modified by combining with other materials. The composite material Fe3O4-ATP/MOF-199 (FAM) was prepared by solvothermal method combined with MOF-199, attapulgite (ATP) and Fe3O4. It was used in the static adsorption experiment of model oil to study the desulfurization performance, including the influence of external conditions such as adsorption time, temperature and the mass ratio of model oil to adsorbent on adsorption capacity. The structure and morphology of the adsorbent were characterized by XRD, FT-IR, SEM, VSM and BET. The experimental results show that the doping of attapulgite reduces the particle size of magnetic MOF-199 and makes the adsorbate closer to the active center of the adsorbent so as to improve the adsorption efficiency.
