Entropy and electronic properties of an off-axis hydrogen-like impurity in non-uniform height quantum ribbon with structural and geometrical azimuthal potential barriers

J. D. Salazar-Santa et al.

Summary: This study systematically investigates the energy structure and entropy of a single electron and an off-axis donor impurity in a non-uniform height quantum ribbon, considering the joint action of an in-plane static electric field and threading magnetic field. The results demonstrate that the energy structure is influenced by the competition between external probes, electron-donor Coulomb interaction, and geometrical quantum wells.

Nonlinear magneto-optical absorption in a finite semi-parabolic quantum well

Luong V. Tung et al.

Summary: This study investigates the magneto-optical absorption properties of a GaAs/Ga1-xAlxAs quantum well with a finite semi-parabolic potential under the influence of Al-doped concentration, hydrostatic pressure, and temperature. The absorption peaks' energy separation, intensity, and position are found to be dependent on these parameters, with the FWHM variation used to analyze absorption characteristics. The temperature-dependent FWHM is found to be in qualitative agreement with experimental observations.

Self-Consistent Schrodinger-Poisson Study of Electronic Properties of GaAs Quantum Well Wires with Various Cross-Sectional Shapes

John A. Gil-Corrales et al.

Summary: Quantum wires are still a subject of novel applications in electronics and optoelectronics. This work revisits the determination of electron states in semiconductor quantum wires in a self-consistent manner through numerical solutions of 2D coupled Schrodinger and Poisson equations. Different wire cross-sectional shapes and temperature effects on confined electron states are discussed in detail, including the origin of Friedel-like oscillations in carrier density at low temperatures.

Effects of growth temperature change in quantum well on luminescence performance and optical spectrum

Rui Hao et al.

Summary: This paper discusses the effects of extended temperature change time of InGaN well growth on the luminescent properties of blue LEDs with sapphire substrate, and finds that this change can increase the brightness of the LED. The study also explores the changes in EL-luminescent peaks under different currents.

Non-linear optical generation in Ga1-yAlyAs/GaAs/Ga1-xAlxAs quantum V-grooves: The effects of temperature and hydrostatic pressure

Eugenio Giraldo-Tobon et al.

Summary: This study calculates the non-linear rectification and generation of the second and third harmonic of a realistic single-electron Ga1-yAlyAs/GaAs/Ga1-xAlxAs V-groove quantum wire. The analysis of the effects of geometrical and physical parameters on the optical coefficients reveals that temperature and aluminum concentration can fine tune the coefficient peaks in a blue-shift manner, while inter-sidewall angle, crescent thickness, and hydrostatic pressure can coarse tune in a red-shift manner.
