Tailoring the microstructure, magnetic properties and interaction mechanisms of Alnico-Ta alloys by magnetic field treatment

Sajjad Ur Rehman et al.

Summary: Reducing the spatial dimensions of spinodally decomposed phases and introducing Ta element can enhance the magnetic properties of Alnico alloys. The addition of Ta improved the intrinsic coercivity of the alloy while maintaining nearly unchanged remanence. Scanning electron microscopy confirmed the unique structure of rod-like Fe-Co rich phase embedded in the matrix phase and the suppression effect of gamma-phase at grain boundaries and triple junctions.

Grain boundary engineering towards high-figure-of-merit Nd-Ce-Fe-B sintered magnets: Synergetic effects of (Nd, Pr)H-x and Cu co-dopants

Jiaying Jin et al.

Summary: The study introduces a powerful approach by combining (Nd, Pr)H x and Cu grain boundary engineering to enhance the magnetic and corrosive properties of Nd-Ce-Fe-B sintered magnets. The optimized ratio of (Nd, Pr)H-x/Cu leads to improved room temperature magnetic performance and excellent thermal stability and electrochemical resistance. The microstructural characteristics and chemical features of the magnets are closely correlated to their exceptional properties, showcasing potential for future development of high-figure-of-merit Nd-Ce-Fe-B permanent magnets.
