Long noncoding RNA IRL regulates NF-κB-mediated immune responses through suppression of miR-27c-3p-dependent IRAK4 downregulation in teleost fish

Weiwei Zheng et al.

Summary: Evidence shows that the lncRNA IRL plays a crucial role in regulating innate immunity in fish by competitively adsorbing miRNA to modulate the miR-27c-3p/IRAK4 axis, leading to enhanced immune responses against invading microorganisms.

A Highly Conserved Circular RNA, circRasGEF1B, Enhances Antiviral Immunity by Regulating the miR-21-3p/MITA Pathway in Lower Vertebrates

Qing Chu et al.

Summary: A highly conserved circRNA named circRasGEF1B has been discovered to play a key role in innate antiviral responses in fish, by acting as a competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) for miR-21-3p and enhancing antiviral immune responses. This study provides new insights into circRNA functions in lower vertebrates and expands our understanding of circRNAs in viral infections.

Circular RNA circDtx1 regulates IRF3-mediated antiviral immune responses through suppression of miR-15a-5p-dependent TRIF downregulation in teleost fish

Weiwei Zheng et al.

Summary: Our study identified a novel circRNA, circDtx1, in teleost fish that is related to antiviral responses, as well as a microRNA, miR-15a-5p, which inhibits antiviral immune responses and promotes viral replication by targeting TRIF. CircDtx1 acts as a competing endogenous RNA that regulates miR-15a-5p, activating the NF-kappa B/IRF3 pathway and enhancing innate antiviral responses. This study provides insights into the regulatory role of circRNAs in immune responses in lower vertebrates.

microRNA-210 and microRNA-3570 Negatively Regulate NF-κB-Mediated Inflammatory Responses by Targeting RIPK2 in Teleost Fish

Hui Su et al.

Summary: This study identified two miRNAs, miR-210 and miR-3570, which negatively regulate host antibacterial immunity in miiuy croaker. These miRNAs inhibit inflammatory cytokine production by targeting RIPK2, thereby modulating the NF-kappa B signaling pathway and playing a regulatory role in bacteria-induced inflammatory response.
