Multi-timescale assessment of propagation thresholds from meteorological to hydrological drought

Jiefeng Wu et al.

Summary: Hydrological drought usually lags behind meteorological drought, and obtaining the propagation threshold (PT) is important for providing early warnings of hydrological drought. Different timescales and methods can lead to varying estimates of PT, with longer timescales corresponding to larger PT. The response sensitivities of drought indices at different timescales contribute to the differences in PT estimates.
