Enhanced toxicity of triphenyl phosphate to zebrafish in the presence of micro- and nano-plastics

Junyi He et al.

Summary: The presence of microplastics, especially NPS, can exacerbate the toxic effects of TPhP on the liver and gonads of fish, while having a sex-dependent impact on hormone balance and vitellogenin content. Additionally, the combination of TPhP and PS significantly reduces the reproductive performance of zebrafish, affecting egg production, fertilization rate, and hatchability.
