Status of the International Gravity Reference System and Frame

Hartmut Wziontek et al.

Summary: The International Association of Geodesy has developed a system to achieve accurate, homogeneous, long-term global recording of Earth's gravity. This system is defined by the instantaneous acceleration of free-fall and a set of conventional corrections, with the traceability ensured through measurements and comparisons with absolute gravimeters.

Evaluation of comparisons of absolute gravimeters using correlated quantities: reprocessing and analyses of recent comparisons

Vojtech Palinkas et al.

Summary: This paper demonstrates and discusses the important aspects that significantly influence the estimated parameters of absolute gravimeters, providing a background for future analysis. The application of correlations between measurements of a particular gravimeter for the first time in metrology shows the ability to obtain appropriate uncertainty estimates. The method of processing and the published results will be particularly useful in the realization of the International Gravity Reference System.

Forty-three years of absolute gravity observations of the Fennoscandian postglacial rebound in Finland

Mirjam Bilker-Koivula et al.

Summary: The study analyzed the trends of gravity change at 12 stations in Finland using absolute gravity data collected between 1976 and 2019 with different instrument types. It was found that trends stabilized within 15 to 20 years for combined JILAg-5 and FG5-type instruments, and within 10 years for FG5-type instrument data alone. The ratio between gravity change rates and vertical rates in the region was larger than previous estimates.
