Comparison of greater curvature and lesser curvature circular-stapled esophagogastrostomy after esophagectomy in patients with esophageal cancer: a prospective randomized controlled trial

Summary: The study compared the integrity of esophagogastrostomy between the greater curvature (GC) and lesser curvature (LC) of the gastric conduit after esophagectomy. Anastomotic leakage rates were similar in both groups, but the sites of leakage differed significantly. Additionally, the rate of stump leakage was significantly higher in the GC group, while the rate of anastomotic stricture was significantly higher in the LC group.
