Summary: The study examines rotating Rayleigh-Benard convection using an asymptotic model that captures rapidly rotating, small Ekman number limit. For sufficiently vigorous convection, the formation of large-scale vortices of opposite polarity is observed. The relative kinetic energy of the large-scale vortices decreases with increasing Rayleigh number, showing a departure from linear scaling at high Rayleigh numbers.
