Influence of surface functionalities of pyrogenic carbonaceous materials on the generation of reactive species towards organic contaminants: A review

Cheng Huang et al.

Summary: Pyrogenic carbonaceous materials (PCM) with diverse surface functionalities have been demonstrated as efficient mediators or catalysts in the degradation of organic contaminants by facilitating the production of reactive species. The chemical surface functionalities of PCM play a crucial role in promoting or inhibiting the generation of various reactive species, and the underlying reaction mechanisms of organic transformations are also established, showing potential for future applications in organic contaminant degradation.

Silver iodide decorated ZnSn(OH)6 hollow cube: Room-temperature preparation and application for highly efficient photocatalytic oxytetracycline degradation

Chen Zhang et al.

Summary: AgI/ZnSn(OH)(6) hollow cube nanocomposite was prepared to enhance visible-light-driven photocatalytic activity. The AgI/ZSH showed superior degradation effect for oxytetracycline hydrochloride (OTC) compared with AgI and ZnSn(OH)(6), and exhibited excellent performance in different environments without significant degradation after four cycles. The main active species were identified as superoxide radical and holes, and the degradation products and possible pathways of OTC were analyzed.
