Efficient polysulfide shuttle mitigation by graphene-lithium cobalt vanadate hybrid for advanced lithium-sulfur batteries

Nanostructured transition metal vanadates as electrodes for pseudo-supercapacitors: a review

Summary: Transition metal vanadates, also known as binary metal oxides, have drawn great interest as active electrode materials in pseudo-supercapacitors due to their multiple oxidation states, layered structure, and synergistic effects between transition metals and vanadium. Nanostructured transition metal vanadates offer high specific surface area, sufficient electroactive sites, and shortened ion diffusion pathway, leading to significantly improved electrochemical performance. Key strategies for achieving transition metal vanadates with good specific capacitance and high cyclic performance include designing various nanostructures of different dimensions and hybridizing with carbonaceous materials, metal oxides, and other components. Possible future breakthroughs in this field are also discussed.
