Genomic prediction using a reference population of multiple pure breeds and admixed individuals

Summary: Utilizing a multi-breed reference population with data from both purebred and crossbred populations is beneficial for breeding value estimation in pure breeds, and can also improve accuracy for crossbred populations. Models that account for breed origin of alleles and utilize breed-specific SNP effects can enhance accuracy in genomic evaluations for both purebred and crossbred animals.
