N and Sn Co-Doped hematite photoanodes for efficient solar water oxidation

Tinting Jiao et al.

Summary: Surface N and Sn co-incorporation in hematite has been found to greatly enhance the photoelectrochemical water oxidation performance, improving donor density and suppressing surface charge recombination. The subsequent loading of Co-Pi cocatalyst further improves the performance, showing a feasible way towards the development of efficient hematite photoanodes.

Ti3+ doped V2O5/TiO2 catalyst for efficient selective catalytic reduction of NOx with NH3

Wei Zhao et al.

Summary: This study evaluates the effect of self-doping Ti3+ into catalysts on the activity of the catalysts. Various characterization methods such as XRD, XPS, and EPR confirm the presence of Ti3+ and oxygen vacancy, which significantly affect the performance of the catalysts. The results indicate potential for improving low-temperature SCR performance through strategic design of Ti3+ self-doped catalysts.

Anion exchange and successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction-assisted coating of BiVO4 with Bi2S3 to produce nanostructured photoanode for enhanced photoelectrochemical water splitting

Sutripto Majumder et al.

Summary: The study focused on improving the current performance limit of BiVO4 as a photoanode for photoelectrochemical water splitting by fabricating a highly efficient BiVO4/Bi2S3 heterojunction using facial anion-exchange and successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction methods. The research found that the SILAR-coated Bi2S3 on BiVO4 showed the highest photocurrent density, three times the value of pristine BiVO4, under 1 sun illumination, while the AE-deposited Bi2S3 resulted in a twofold increase in photocurrent density compared to uncoated BiVO4. Comparing the two methods, it was observed that the SILAR-grown Bi2S3 created an effective heterojunction with BiVO4, leading to efficient charge transfer and improved performance.

Improved charge carrier separation of Schottky junction containing a bimetallic Cu-Pd alloy and N-Bi2WO6 square-shaped discs for photocatalytic H2 performance

Kotesh Kumar Mandari et al.

Summary: This study presents bimetallic Cu-Pd/N-Bi2WO6 heterostructures as efficient photocatalysts for hydrogen production, with high hydrogen production rates attributed to active sites of Cu-Pd alloy nanospheres and rapid charge transfer channels between Cu-Pd and N-Bi2WO6. The enhanced photocatalytic performance is achieved through aggregation of the highly dispersed Cu-Pd alloy nanospheres on the N-Bi2WO6 surface, providing a new effective route for high-performance heterostructures design in photocatalytic H-2 production.
