How Does the Attention System Learn From Aversive Outcomes?

Haena Kim et al.

Summary: This study examined the roles of classical conditioning and instrumental learning in attention control, finding that classical conditioning plays a more dominant role in guiding attention. The results suggest that the attention system may be guided by motivational relevance rather than a specific emotional valence.
