Effect of zinc substitution on U-type barium hexaferrite-epoxy composites as designed for microwave absorbing applications

Vivek Pratap et al.

Summary: In this study, U-type barium hexaferrite poly-crystalline powder was successfully synthesized via solid state reaction route, with Zn+2 substitutions affecting the lattice parameters and magnetic properties. Increasing Zn+2 content led to a decrease in lattice parameters, saturation magnetization, and an increase in particle size. The prepared composites showed promising electromagnetic properties as excellent microwave absorbers in the C-band, X-band, and Ku-band frequency ranges.
