Highly porous metal organic framework derived NiO hollow spheres and flowers for oxygen evolution reaction and supercapacitors

B. Purusottam Reddy et al.

Summary: Porous NiO hollow spheres and flowers were successfully synthesized through solvothermal synthesis and heat treatment, exhibiting excellent supercapacitive performance and catalytic activity. The hollow spheres showed higher specific capacitance and lower overpotential compared to the flowers, with over 93% capacity retention after 5000 cycles.

Enhancement in the photocatalytic and antimicrobial properties of ZnO nanoparticles by structural variations and energy bandgap tuning through Fe and Co co-doping

Muhammad Shahid Nadeem et al.

Summary: In this study, pure ZnO and iron (Fe) and cobalt (Co) co-doped ZnO nanoparticles were successfully synthesized and characterized using XRD, FTIR, SEM, and UV-vis spectroscopy. The results showed that the dopants influenced the structural parameters, energy bandgap, and photocatalytic activity of the ZnO nanoparticles. The optimized concentration of 6%Fe and 4%Co exhibited the highest photocatalytic efficiency and antibacterial activity against different dyes and bacterial strains.

Tauseef Munawar et al.

Summary: In this study, novel Mg0.95Cr0.05O and Mg(0.9)Cr(0.05)M(0.05)O (M = Co, Ag, Ni) nanocrystals were synthesized using a simple and cost-effective co-precipitation method. The structural, electrical, and antibacterial properties were investigated, demonstrating that the dopants did not disrupt the basic FCC structure of magnesium oxide while improving the optical conductivity. The antibacterial performance against gram-positive Staphylococcus aureus bacteria was also evaluated.
