Aerosol deposition in circular tubes with simultaneous consideration of diffusion and sedimentation

Yanrong Yu et al.

Summary: This study investigated the aerosol deposition from laminar flow in a horizontal circular tube considering the combined mechanisms of Brownian diffusion and gravitational settling. The non-monotonic variation of deposition velocity with respect to transport distance in the tube was identified, showing a difference from deposition by diffusion alone. The results can be used to describe aerosol deposition at any distance in a horizontal circular tube.
