Enhancement of adsorption and anticorrosion performance of two polymeric compounds for the corrosion of SABIC carbon steel in hydrochloric acid

M. Abdallah et al.

Summary: The anti-corrosion efficiencies of PVA and AA on CSX60 carbon steel in 1.0 M HCl solutions were found to increase with decreasing temperatures and increasing concentrations. These polymeric molecules demonstrated the ability to inhibit general and pitting corrosion by forming adsorbent films that isolated the CSX60 surface from aggressive acidic solutions.

Application of ascorbic acid as green corrosion inhibitor of reinforced steel in concrete pore solutions contaminated with chlorides

Nezha Khedoudja Brixi et al.

Summary: The study found that using ascorbic acid in concrete can effectively inhibit corrosion of reinforcements and prevent corrosion in chloride environments. The optimum concentration of ascorbic acid was found to be 0.1 g/L, with an inhibition efficiency of 88.96%, and it can delay the onset of corrosion for up to 28 days.

Investigation of three synthesized propane bis-oxoindoline derivatives as inhibitors for the corrosion of mild steel in sulfuric acid solutions

Ahmed Fawzy et al.

Summary: The study investigated the inhibition impacts of three synthesized propane bis-oxoindoline derivatives on mild steel corrosion in sulfuric acid solution. Results showed that the inhibition efficiencies of the tested compounds improved with concentration and decreased with temperature rise, with a maximum of 93% at 288 K. The synthesized organic compounds acted as mixed-type inhibitors, with the inhibition effects influenced by specific divalent transition metal ions.

Inhibition Evaluation of Chromotrope Dyes for the Corrosion of Mild Steel in an Acidic Environment: Thermodynamic and Kinetic Aspects

Ahmed Fawzy et al.

Summary: In this study, chromotropic acid (CA) and chromotrope 2R (CR) were investigated as inhibitors against mild steel corrosion in sulfuric acid solutions. The inhibition efficiencies increased with inhibitor concentrations and decreased with rising temperature. The inhibitors acted as mixed-type inhibitors with anodic prevalence, forming a shielding layer on the steel surfaces.
